The Romantic Paris exhibition

Discovering the neighbourhoods

Until September 15th, Le Petit Palais pays honours the romantic Paris of 1815-1848. To immerse yourself in this culturally rich era, you are being trained to discover the capital’s emblematic districts. It begins with a stop in the salons of the Tuileries Palace, where Marie d’Orléans and the Duchess of Berry are particularly highlighted.
The visit continues in the galleries of the Palais-Royal, associated with the fashion accessories and luxurious objects that were snatched from these spaces by the 19th century bourgeoisie. In the Salon du Louvre, various fascinating works focus the attention, including those of Girodet, Ingres and Delacroix.
It is also an opportunity to contemplate engravings, paintings and other creations inspired by Notre-Dame de Paris. As all good things come to an end, this exotic stroll ends with representations of the Parisian streets in February 1848, during the revolution that marked the end of the July monarchy.
